5 HEALTHY MORNING MUST DO'S

Wake up and start your day off on the right foot. Here are five things you should do before work to jump-start a healthy day. And once you get to the office, here are a few ways to make your work life productive too.

Sip Nature's Beverage

Wake up and drink a glass of water in the morning. It'll help wake you up, kick-start your metabolism, and hydrate your body before working out. Which brings us to the next healthy to-do . . .

Get Moving

With hot weather baking most of the US, exercising first thing in the morning (after a light snack) will help you beat the heat. If that's not enough to motivate an a.m. workout, studies show that morning exercisers burn more calories. Not a morning person? Try these tips.

Fill Up With Protein and Fiber

Coffee and a sugary muffin are not going to give you the energy and sharp mind you need for a productive morning. Fill your belly with a breakfast that is full of protein and fiber like this breakfast quinoa. The fiber will not only keep your digestive system smiling, but it'll also keep you feeling full till lunch.

Pre-Pack Food to Avoid Temptation

To stay on your healthy path, prepare all the meals and snacks you'll need for the day. Cut up a big salad or some fruit, or bag some trail mix or whole grain crackers. That way you won't need to run to the closest food joint and be tempted by unhealthy foods. While you're at it, fill up your reusable bottle with water.

Slather Up

Even if you aren't hitting the beach, you must protect your skin with sunscreen every day. UV rays can still penetrate windows, clouds, and even some fabrics. To prevent skin cancer and wrinkles, after your morning shower moisturize your body with a broad spectrum sunscreen.
